Christian Handfasting

Each month I received several request for handfasting ceremonies from couples.  Most couples have a vague idea of what the ceremony is and what it represents   and that is the binding of their two lives in marriage.  Before Christianity handfasting was the accepted means of marriage across much of Europe.  The traditional script involves asking the couple a series of questions and binding them together by invoking different spirits.  The traditional ceremony text does not match well with many people today who believe in the Judeo-Christian God.
